amandascatsToday I learned that Cleo would rather have me pick mats out of her fur with my fingernails than snip the mats off with scissors. I guess it makes sense because the fingernails feel more natural to her... more like how she nips at mats with her teeth to try to get them out.
Anyway, if I use the scissors, she gets upset and leaves. If I try to work the mats out with my fingers, she'll sit there patiently for as long as it takes. Poor Cleo! I wish I'd learned this sooner... like before I'd subjected her to seven years of scissors.
