Our New Look

amandascatsThis is Alex’s human. I feel a need to speak up and explain the new look of Alex’s journal. Yeah, his entries are all gone. How about that? As they say on Catster, “where’d that cat go?”
You see Live Journal has this handy feature that allows us to set our entries to be read by only those on our friends list here. The entries aren’t really gone. They are just hidden from you. I did this to prove a point.
You’ve already driven us off Catster. You aren’t going to drive us off Live Journal. It’s not a possibility. So, you won a round. Enjoy your victory but accept that it’s not going to be repeated here. I can block you from commenting and I can ban you from reading.
If you are reading this journal and would like to continue reading it, you need to watch your manners. This is not Catster. There are no mods here to take sides and protect you when you say something stupid or inappropriate. There is me and I’m not having it. Yeah, if you are an entertaining fool, I may bat you around for a while but, when that gets old, you’re out of here.
Unfortunately, those who are not LJ members cannot be screened individually. IOW, I can't block specific IPs. It’s an all or nothing thing. The next time someone barges in here with an inappropriate comment that they just can’t keep to themselves, this journal will be set to “friends only” permanently. It will be locked down and only those Live Journal users who are on our friends list will be able to read our entries. It's up to you. Think about it.

i usually only popped in the cat health section once or twice a month, so i missed that whole thread. i just read the pregnant cat post...yikes! that chick is off her rocker! i feel bad for that cat, and the kittens to come...
after living in new york for 10 years, there is one thing i've learned in dealing with disturbed people, whatever you do, don't engage them. it fuels the fire, and get 'em worked up.
anyhow, i'm staying off the forums too. catster has changed dramatically for the worse... but i'll keep pea's site up, and change picts them as i get more. i do love that she has her own web site-it's hilarious!!!!

Date: 2006-03-18 04:51 pm (UTC)Unfortunately, there are other kitties who were not invited, are not wanted, and just won't go away. That's why Mom decided to screen our diaries for now. I don't think it will be a permanent thing. We are just hoping that, if there is nothing to see, the unfriendly kitties will go away. Then we'll be able to talk to our friends again. We are worried that will drive our friends away too...
It's a tough call but the integrity of our diaries is our main priority and we cannot let that be compromised by people who are only here to start arguments. We left Catster to get away from that stuff and it's not welcome here.

Of course I'm always tempted to peek and see what's going on but I know it would just upset me all over again. We've just thrown ourselves into the group we run which is nice because you're able to moderate it as you see fit. No stupid shits asking about how to handle their cat's accidental pregnancy there! Heh

We may have been open to going back at some point if Catster gets their shit together but after getting trolled here... I don't think so.
